The Living It Now Bible reading plan is designed to help you get the most from your time reading God’s Word. The plan is chronological, but rather than getting bogged down in trying to read through the Old Testament, you can read through both the Old and New Testaments as it happened. Understand any chronology of the Bible is only an approximation, but these do help you to get a feel for how the events of the Bible took place through history.
The Living It Now plan will guide you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice each year. This may sound like a lot, but it can be done in as little as 10 to 15 minutes each day reading on average 4 to 5 chapters from the Old and New Testaments.
The plan is set up so with six days of reading each week. This offers you one day a week as a Sabbath rest. You can take the day off, read from the scripture or devotional of your choice, or if needed you can catch up on days you may have missed through the week.
Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you read. Don’t make your reading just another “to do list.” It’s more important to take time and meditate upon the scripture as the Spirit makes it come alive than to just push through the planned reading for the day.
When you finish each day’s reading consider taking a few moments to journal your what the Lord is saying to you through His Word.
